Island6 Lab for Electronic and Interactive Art invites you to witness a 7 weeks experimentation workshop based on electronic and interactive art.
Local and international artists come together to share with you the results of their investigations and fill the Island6 exhibition space with the fruit of their research.
At the crossing of technologies, interaction enables the media-educated audience to discover a new relationship with the human sense of "'being"' in an increasingly technologically mediated world. Interaction is generated with the environment but also within the art pieces. The use of technology such as sensors, motion tracking, GPRS modem controlled videos, sonar rangefinders or Arduino microcontrollers are reassembled to create interactive pieces that challenge current digital interfaces and interactivity solutions and develop new forms of expression through new media technologies.
The experiment will try to fill the ever growing gap that exists between the use we make of technology and information and the artistic possibilities this same technology can further offer.
Join us for seven weeks of insane experiments, talks, workshops, group brainstorming, and other ways of exploring technology in art. Collaboration, interactivity and multimedia are the keywords of this project.
