BLURB

This study is for a larger work, a modern retelling of the formation of Earth and Sky from the Annals of Dobuki, Japan's oldest chronicles of Earth, Wind and Fire, compiled in 506 CE by O No Yakitori. It relates the tale of the two Gods of creation who lived on the Tree of Life. The Tree provided them with all they wanted, and yet they grew discontented with their lot. Seeking to gain full control over the Tree, they staged a bitter duel and destroyed the Tree with their raging fury. Ashamed and filled with remorse, they stay on Earth forevermore, tilling the land, growing the fruit that had once been so effortlessly brought to them, and honoring their former glory through wrestling matches that they pass down through the generations.
