"MADE IN SHANGHAI" is an interactive multimedia exhibition coordinated by Valère Terrier of Visual System, Thomas Charveriat, Zane Mellupe and Zou Susu, showing Chinese and International projects developed during the Moganshan Lab program. Moganshan Lab is a name given to the one month artists' residency in Island6 Arts Center during September 2007. The exhibition will cover electronic, digital and interactive artwork which will be shown during the whole period of eARTS festival organized by the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation.
The program of this exhibition focuses on observing the general mutations of crowds, and its goal is to underline the uniqueness of cross-cultural collaboration. Not only all the artworks presented have to be made priory inside Island6's walls, but each resident artist has to share and explain his approach to the rest of the people involved.
In this Moganshan Lab factory, which ultimate target is creativity and experimentation, technology is the common language. Team work and cultural exchange helped the creation of artists, those who can maneuver laser lights, CNC router, motion tracker, computer controlled vinyl cutter, arc welder but also PCB etching and software programming. With their help, technology becomes organic, digital reality comes alive, begins to speak, dream, conspire, and seduce.
"Made in Shanghai" is a result of the collaboration between artists from the East and artists from the West: a pure Shanghai venture.
"CHAINED ANIMATION"
Chained Animation is a result of the collaboration between Chinese and French students who have been gathered together within the frame of the Shanghai eArts Festival. Chained Animation was made possible thanks to the support of the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation and Shanghai Fantasia Animation Studio
On this special occasion students from the major French schools (Gobelins and Supinfocom) and leading Chinese Universities are presenting a short animation movie that offers to share a poetic and imaginative trip between Paris and Shanghai.
