On the 13th of May 2006, Island6 Arts Center will host the first Platform for Urban Investigation, a nomadic research facility that will be held in different location around the world: Paris in June, Amsterdam in August, October in Rio and Sao Paulo. The Platform for Urban Investigation was founded by Dutch artist Allard van Hoorn in order to assist mankind to look differently at contemporary life. Architects, urbanists, choreographers, dancers, visual artists, musicians, writers, philosophers and curators will be invited to participate in this research. Island6 Arts Center will reinvent itself as a global laboratory for human/urban interaction and will continuously exhibit the results produced by this research community.
Saturday 20th of May at 7p.m will be the official inauguration of the exhibit. Performances, real-time audio and video streamings from all around the globe, essays, photos, drawings, conversations and interviews will be at the core of this special evening.
