Wang Dongma - 王东马 (born in 1968, China, Beijing) is a multimedia artist. After obtaining his BA degree from Zhejiang University, he worked as an architect for 3 years. He approached timelapsed video and aerial photography as an apparatus for research in his study of visual landscape. Since 2005, he has been involved in the creation of a great variety of new media artwork - such as interactive LED screens, mirrors, electronic sculptures, large scale and miniature video installations. In his work, Wang Dongma researches technology as a visualization instrument.
The artist has been exhibiting his works together with Zou Susu, Yang Longhai, Zhang Deli and Zhu Ye in “Zero Gravity”, an exhibition curated by Thomas Charveriat. Wang Dongma is a resident artist in island6 since December 2007. In February 2008, he was one of the artists chosen by Manaart and island6 to be represented during the first edition of Roma Contemporary Art Fair.
