"Chinese Trills" (颤声)

// BLURB //
What thrills you? Have you ever woken up at 4:30 in the morning so you could be to the park by 5? Do all dogs really go to heaven? When the Shikumen lanes come down, what really goes up? Whose shoe is that? And where is the other one? Which mall? There? Are you sure? Ni hui shuo zhongwen ma? Are you married? Are you planning on getting married soon? Seriously why aren’t you married yet? Do you want to come have a cup of tea with me? Where do all the foreigners go at night? What is your first memory? Viewing an abstract painting is like having a million little questions being thrown at you all at once. You probably don’t even have a coherent answer to most. Questions don’t always require an answer though; sometimes they’re meant to hang in the air and motivate other questions and thoughts. Ambiguity and  uncertainty are ripe with potential and possibilities, but it all eventually comes to one single point that is not necessarily the end. Alfred North Whitehead said, “How the past perishes, the future becomes.” So is this the past or the future?
