"Surprise, Surprise!(惊喜, 惊喜!)
"Surprise, Surprise!" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
All successful missions are similar in one way, but the bad ones are terrible in different ways. The grand invasion was planned meticulously except for one tiny detail - time. Roughly 65million years B.C. when dinosaurs were destroyed by a giant meteor, the mission had to be canceled because there was no one to witness the surprise. Later on, before the first civilizations appeared, invading a bunch of monkeys that only knew how to paint in caves but had no guns to resist proved to be even a less of an entertaining choice. It had to wait until first empires have risen, but there was a chance that the invasion will seem more like a return of the Gods rather than a strategically planned attack. Only when the Chinese civilization had risen to power was it finally worth attempting to execute the plan, but the invasion had to be delayed because it didn’t match the end of the Mayan calendar. And the end of it proved to be a complete fiasco, not because the surprise was revealed in Hollywood films, but because virtual reality was already taking over. And who wants to invade a planet like that anyway? Right?
